Prior to the advent of 24-hour cable news, an editor at the then still locally owned Asbury Park Press took a chance and hired an inexperienced college student as a "stringer" to cover local city council, board of ed, and planning board meetings. From those humble beginnings, my professional journey has included writing (freelance and staff writer positions on both newspapers and trade magazines), editorial (editor and executive editor of trade magazines and directories) and design (magazine, brochures, websites, etc.) and photography (including magazine cover shots).
